The Women's Health Network

The Women's Health Network is a VNA program that is funded by the VNA, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control. This program provides free screening and diagnostic testing for breast and cervical cancer and screening for cardiovascular disease.
This program is currently being administered by the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod.

The Screening and Diagnostic Services include:
- Information about breast and cervical health
- Pap smear and clinical breast exam
- Mammograms
- Ultrasound, diagnostic mammograms
- Biopsy and related costs
The Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program includes:
- Lipid panel and blood glucose testing
- Office visit, blood pressure, risk reduction counseling and lifestyle counseling
These programs are available to women between the ages of 40-64 who meet the established income guidelines and are uninsured or underinsured.
Women that enroll in this program are provided with education, referred to primary health care providers and specialists and, if needed, connected to community resources for support and assistance.
